

BALTIMORE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will be holding a ceremony to dedicate its new hydrographic survey vessel, Survey Vessel CATLETT, Thursday morning at 10:00am in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Survey Vessel CATLETT will support Baltimore District’s mission of ensuring safe navigation on channels in and out of the Port of Baltimore as well as on dozens of other channels throughout the region. It is the first new vessel in the District’s fleet since 1992 and will ultimately be replacing Survey Vessel LINTHICUM, which has been serving region since 1976.
Survey Vessel CATLETT is named in honor of the late Harold Catlett, a Baltimore native who served Baltimore District for more than 30 years before his sudden passing in 2014.
