The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) would like to advise motorists of the temporary traffic modifications and road closures for the following activities this weekend. Traffic Modifications for the Feast of Saint Anthony Festival

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Feast of Saint Anthony Festival which will be held in Little Italy.

In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented from approximately 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023:

  • Stiles Street from High Street to Lloyd Street
  • Exeter Street from Fawn Street to Pratt Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Charles Village Festival

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Charles Village Festival which will be held in Charles Village.

In preparation for the event, the following road closure will be implemented from approximately 7:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, through 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023:

  • North Charles Street from Art Museum Drive to 29th Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Charles Street Promenade

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Charles Street Promenade.

In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 6:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m.:

  • North Charles Street from Saratoga Street to North Avenue
  • North Charles Street at Pleasant Street
  • North Charles Street at North Alley
  • North Charles Street at Hamilton Street
  • North Charles Street at Mount Vernon Place (no two-way traffic)
  • North Charles Street at Read Street
  • North Charles Street at Eager Street
  • North Charles Street at Biddle Street
  • North Charles Street at Preston Street

The following parking restrictions for the festival will be implemented from 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 through 11:00 p.m.:

  • Both sides of North Charles Street from Saratoga Street to North Avenue

Charm City Circulator Service Alert - During the event, the following detours and stop closures for the Charm City Circulator Purple Route will be implemented from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 through 11:59 p.m.:

Detour:

  • Northbound Purple route will proceed straight on Calvert Street until North Avenue
  • Turn left on North Avenue
  • Turn right on Charles Street
  • Continue along regular route

Stop Closures:

  • 303: Redwood Street (NB)
  • 304: Charles Street and Fayette Street (NB)
  • 305: Pleasant Street (NB)
  • 306: Hamilton Street (NB)
  • 307: Washington Monument (NB)
  • 308: Eager Street (NB)
  • 309: Biddle Street (NB)
  • 310: Penn Station (NB)
  • 311: North Avenue Station (NB)

Traffic Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the route to help facilitate the movement of traffic during the event. Motorists should pay close attention to the posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in prohibited areas. Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced throughout the duration of the day for the safety of everyone. Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore 10-Miler

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Baltimore 10-Miler footrace which will be held in Druid Hill Park starting at 10:30 a.m.  Approximately 5,000 runners are expected to participate in this year's 15th anniversary event.   

Race Route:

  • Start on East Drive east of Swann Drive
  • Continue on Wyman Park Drive crossing over Sisson Street / Keswick Road, and then later Remington Avenue
  • Turn right at San Martin Drive
  • Turn right onto Art Museum Drive
  • Turn left onto 28th Street
  • Make slight right onto Old York Road
  • Turn right onto East 33rd Street
  • Turn right onto The Alameda
  • Turn right onto East 33rd Street
  • Turn left onto Greenmount Avenue
  • Turn right onto 28th Street
  • Turn left onto Wyman Park Drive
  • Turn right onto Red Road
  • Turn left onto Shop Road
  • Turn right onto Red Road
  • Turn right onto Hanlon Avenue
  • Finish on East Drive just before the intersection with Swann Drive

During the event, one lane will be coned off for the participants along the race route when possible. Temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity may experience delays and should consider using alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for Pride Kick Off Trans Pride Festival / Parade

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Pride Kick Off Trans Pride Festival / Parade.  

Parade participants will begin lining up at approximately 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of 33rd and Charles Streets at 11:00 a.m.  The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will travel south on North Charles Street heading towards 23rd Street to disassemble along 23rd Street.

In preparation for the festival, the following road closures will be implemented starting at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023:

  • North Charles Street from North Avenue to 24th Street
  • 20th Street from Morton Street to North Lovegrove Street
  • 21st Street from Morton Street to St. Paul Street
  • 22nd Street from Morton Street to St. Paul Street
  • 23rd Street from Morton Street to St. Paul Street

In preparation for the parade, the following road closure and paring restrictions will be implemented from 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 through 3:30 p.m.:

  • North Charles Street from 25th Street to 33rd Street

The following parking restrictions will be implemented from 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 through 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023:

  • North Charles Street, from North Avenue to 24th Street
  • 20th Street from Morton Street to North Lovegrove Street
  • 21st Street from Morton Street to St. Paul Street
  • 22nd Street from Morton Street to St. Paul Street
  • 23rd Street from Morton Street to St. Paul Street

During the parade, all major signalized intersections along the parade route should be allowed to cross the route during breaks in the parade. Motorists should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the parade for the safety of participants and should expect delays.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for Right of Way Cleaning and Crane Operations

This weekend, temporary road and lane closures will be in effect for crane operations and right of way cleaning activities.

The following roadways will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, June 3, 2023 with detours in effect:

  • Eager Street closed from Charles to St. Paul Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (crane operation)
  • Rosedale Street closed from Walbrook to Clifton Avenues 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (crane operation)

The following lane closures will be implemented on Sunday, June 4, 2023:

  • Northbound and Southbound left lane closures along I-83 from Fayette Street to city line 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (right of way cleaning)

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, June 4, 2023 the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Holliday Street closed from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
  • Hillen Street center lane closure at Fallsway

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
