Weekend Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fell’s Point for Halloween Festivities

Motorists should not park in low-lying areas due to threat of coastal flooding

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented this weekend in Fell’s Point.

Starting on Friday, October 29, 2021 and continuing each evening through Sunday, October 31, 2021, all through traffic will be restricted in Fell’s Point from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. within the following geographical boundaries:

  • South of Aliceanna Street
  • North of Thames Street
  • East of S. Bond Street
  • West of S. Ann Street

The following intersections will also be closed this weekend starting at approximately 6:00 p.m. each evening for Halloween festivities:

  • S. Regester Street and Aliceanna Street
  • S. Bethel St and Aliceanna Street
  • S. Bond St and Aliceanna Street

Due to the severe threat of flooding in Fell’s Point because of heavy rains and high tides, residents and visitors are strongly advised to relocate their vehicles from low-lying areasThe Fleet and Eden Garage (501 S. Eden Street), the Caroline Street Garage (805 S Caroline Street) and the Little Italy Garage (400 S. Central Avenue) will be open for residents at no charge until 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2021 to avoid possible flooding in the area.  Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis and vehicles must be moved out of the garage by 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2021 to avoid any fees.

Citizens who visit Fell’s Point this weekend are encouraged to use public transportation or rideshare services.  Designated rideshare drop-off/pick-up areas have been established this weekend at the following locations:

  • Thames Street at Caroline Street
  • 1634 Aliceanna Street
  • Wolf Street at Aliceanna Street
  • Thames Street at Wolf Street

Various parking restrictions will also be implemented in Fell’s Point throughout the weekend.  Fell’s Point visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted or low-lying areas.  Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced for everyone’s safety.  Residents with ‘Area 16’ Residential Parking Permits will be allowed to access areas closed to through traffic.

Motorists should be aware that additional road closures and parking restrictions may be implemented in the vicinity of Fell’s Point throughout the weekend if needed. 

 

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway for streetlighting work.

On Saturday, October 30, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Guilford Avenue and the county line from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Portion of Guilford Avenue to Close for Crane Lift

This Saturday, a portion of Guilford Avenue will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 30, 2021, Guilford Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Lexington and Fayette Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., weather permitting, with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Portion of E. Mt. Vernon Place to Close for Crane Lift

This Saturday, a portion of E. Mt. Vernon Place will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 30, 2021, E. Mt. Vernon Place will be closed to through traffic between St. Paul Street and Washington Place from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., weather permitting, with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Portion of Commerce Street to Close for Crane Lift

This weekend, a portion of Commerce Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31, 2021, Commerce Street will be closed to through traffic between Lombard and Pratt Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting, with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

 

Traffic Modifications for the Port to Fort 6K

This Saturday, temporary lane closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the 25th annual Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation Port to Fort 6K which will be held in Locust Point.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will kick off from the Liberty Lot located at 1215 E. Fort Avenue.  Participants will proceed west on Fort Avenue, left on Webster Street, right on E. Randall Street, right onto Belt Street, and right on Fort Avenue towards Fort McHenry.  Participants will enter Fort McHenry and complete the Fort loop, returning to Fort Avenue and heading west to finish on Fort Avenue by the Liberty Lot.

In preparation for the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible with parking restrictions in effect.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, October 31, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
