The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary street closures and parking restrictions in effect for the Baltimore City Council Swearing-In Ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the Baltimore War Memorial Building on Thursday, December 10, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from approximately 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
Due to the road closures in the vicinity of the War Memorial Building and City Hall, access to the 510 E. Lexington Street Garage will be difficult once the closures are implemented. Monthly garage permit holders are strongly encouraged to arrive prior to road closures at 8:30 a.m. to avoid any inconvenience. Vehicles will be permitted to exit the garage throughout the day.
During the closures, traffic trying to access the northbound Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) from the east are encouraged to use Lombard Street to President Street to the JFX; motorists trying to access the expressway from the west should utilize Pratt Street to President Street to the JFX.
In addition to the street closures listed above, parking restrictions will be implemented along roadways in the immediate vicinity of City Hall and the War Memorial Building. Motorists should adhere to all posted parking restrictions.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity may encounter delays and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.
