Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) would like to advise motorists that temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) this weekend for roadway striping work.

On Saturday, November 14, 2020, a double left lane closure will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway from the county line to Fayette Street starting at approximately 6:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

Then on Sunday, November 15, 2020, striping work will continue along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway (if needed) with a double left lane closure again being implemented at approximately 6:00 a.m. (weather permitting).  Once the southbound striping is complete, a double left lane closure will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway from Fayette Street to the county line

If additional time is needed to complete the striping work, left lane closures will again be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weather permitting.

While work is being performed, the JFX will be reduced to one through lane of traffic.  The right lane will remain open for motorists and all access to and from the expressway will be maintained.  These lane closures will cause congestion and delays along the JFX and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
