Hanover Street Bridge Closure Scheduled For This Weekend, May 16-17, 2020
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will temporarily close this Saturday for maintenance and striping work.
Starting at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020 the Hanover Street Bridge / Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed to through traffic in both directions between Waterview Avenue and Cromwell Street with detours in effect, weather permitting. The bridge will remain closed until approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2020.
Variable message signs will be deployed in the area to alert motorists of the closure. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
During the closure, citizens should utilize Russell Street/MD-295 as an alternate route:
Southbound Hanover Street detour:
Southbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured south on I-95, south on MD-295, south on Waterview Avenue via the Annapolis Road exit, then back to Hanover Street.
Northbound Hanover Street detour:
Northbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured west on Waterview Avenue, north on MD-295, east on Hamburg Street back to Hanover Street.
Hopkins Place Temporary Closure
This Saturday, a portion of Hopkins Place will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.
On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Hopkins Place will be closed to through traffic between Lombard and Pratt Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Guilford Avenue Temporary Closure
This Saturday, a portion of Guilford Avenue will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.
On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Guilford Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Lexington and Fayette Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
