Weekend Closure of the Hanover Street Bridge

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will temporarily close this weekend for maintenance work.  

Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed to through traffic in both directions between Waterview Avenue and Cromwell Street (weather permitting) with detours in effect.  The bridge will remain closed until approximately 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019.

Variable message signs will be deployed in the area to alert motorists of the closure. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

Southbound President Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of southbound President Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, October 26, 2019, southbound President Street will be closed to through traffic between Fleet Street and the Katyn Circle from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Tank Davis Parade

This Saturday, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Tank Davis Parade that will be held in west Baltimore.

In preparation for this event, the following roadways will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

• Pennsylvania Avenue from W. Preston to Presstman Streets
• Presstman Street from Pennsylvania to Fremont Avenues
• Preston Street from Druid Hill to Pennsylvania Avenues
• Fremont Avenue from Presstman to Robert Streets
• Robert Street from Fremont to Pennsylvania Avenues

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Jones Falls Expressway Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of the northbound Jones Falls Expressway for street lighting work.

On Saturday, October 26, 2019, right lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Madison Street and Coldspring Lane from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  In addition, the Madison Street access ramp to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway will also temporarily close during this time. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Event Cancelled: Traffic Modifications for the Downhill Derby 

There are no traffic modifications for this event. 

Traffic Modifications for the Federal Hill Jazz & Blues Festival

This Sunday S. Charles Street and Both drives of E. Cross Street will be closed for the Federal Hill Jazz and Blues Festival.

On Sunday, October 27, 2019, S. Charles Street – Hamburg Street to West Street and Both drives of E. Cross Street – Charles Street to Light Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in affect.

As of a result of the E. Cross Street closure — Patapsco Street will be reversed from one-way southbound to one-way northbound from Poultney Street to Hamburg, to facilitate the flow of traffic.

Detours will be in place to redirect motorist around the event site. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
