Heavy Volumes of Traffic Expected Downtown Friday, September 13, 2019

Thursday Sep 12th, 2019

Motorists traveling in the downtown area should be prepared for possible congestion and delays

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that heavy traffic volumes are expected in downtown Baltimore tomorrow, Friday, September 13, 2019.

Motorists traveling in the downtown area Friday morning should be aware that substantial traffic volumes are expected beginning at 10:00 a.m. and are expected to last until 2:00 p.m. Temporary intersection closures may occur throughout the day beginning 10:00 a.m. — which will cause congestion and delays. Citizens are encouraged to plan ahead for the commute on Friday by allowing additional travel time.

Commuters are strongly encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation on Friday as they plan to travel through the downtown corridor. Mass transit including MDOT MTA buses, Light Rail, the Metro Subway System and the Charm City Circulator are great ways to access the downtown area.  The MDOT MTA’s Light RailLink Service is a convenient way to get to downtown  with a stop right at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Throughout the day, Transportation Enforcement Officers will be deployed to help facilitate the movement of traffic.
