New Traffic Pattern Being Implemented Along Key Highway

Wednesday Aug 28th, 2019

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a new traffic pattern will soon be implemented along a portion of Key Highway, as construction work progresses for the Key Highway at Light Street Intersection Improvement project.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, crews will begin shifting the work zone along Key Highway between Light Street and Battery Avenue to the center of the roadway.  The new traffic pattern along this portion of Key Highway will be fully implemented by 5:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019, weather permitting.  Two lanes of through traffic will remain open in each direction for commuters along Key Highway during this phase of construction.  Pedestrian walkways in this area may also be altered to accommodate the new work zone.

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and pedestrian walkways.  The lane closures and new traffic pattern may cause delays along both Key Highway and Light Street, so citizens should allow additional commute time and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
