Hanover Street Bridge Weekend Closure
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will temporarily close this weekend for repair work.
Starting at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 08, 2019 the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed to through traffic in both directions between Waterview Avenue and Cromwell Street (weather permitting) with detours in effect. The bridge will remain closed until approximately 5:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Russell Street/MD-295.
Southbound Hanover Street detour:
Southbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured south on I-95, south on MD-295, south on Waterview Avenue via the Annapolis Road exit, then back to Hanover Street.
Northbound Hanover Street detour:
Northbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured west on Waterview Avenue, north on MD-295, east on Hamburg Street back to Hanover Street.
Traffic Modifications for the MCVET 5K/10K Runs and Walk
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the MCVET 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run which will be held on Sunday, June 09, 2019 starting at 7:30 a.m.
The 5K kicks off at 7:30 a.m. from the intersection of Lexington and Holliday Streets. Participants will proceed right on Frederick Street, right on E. Fayette Street, left on St. Paul/Light Street, and left on Key Highway to the turnaround point at Cross Street. Runners will continue back along Key Highway, then right on Light Street, north to Calvert Street and right on Lexington Street to the finish line.
The 10K kicks off at 8:30 a.m. from the intersection of Lexington and Holliday Streets. Participants will proceed right on N. Frederick Street, right on E. Fayette Street, left on St. Paul/Light Street, left on Key Highway, right on Lawrence Street and left on Fort Avenue to the turnaround point near Fort McHenry. The course proceeds right on Woodall Street, left on Key Highway, right on Light Street, north to Calvert Street and right on Lexington Street to the finish line.
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, June 09, 2019 from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:
- Holliday Street between Saratoga and Lexington Streets
- Lexington Street between Guilford Avenue and Gay Street
In addition, at least one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route. Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Road Closures for the St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival
This weekend, road closures will be in effect for the St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival.
In preparation for the event, the following streets are now closed to through traffic and will remain closed until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Ponca Street between Eastern Avenue and Fait Streets
- Fleet Street between Ponca and Quail Streets
- Foster Street between Ponca and Quail Streets
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians attending the festival and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Cold Spring Lane Temporary Ramp Closure
This Saturday, the westbound Cold Spring Lane access ramp to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway will temporarily close for pothole repair work. On Saturday, June 08, 2019, the westbound Cold Spring Lane access ramp to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway will be closed from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Bellemore Road Paving Work
This Saturday, a portion of Bellemore Road will close for paving work. On Saturday, June 08, 2019, Bellemore Road will close to through traffic between Roland Avenue and Falls Road from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect.
