Daily closures will be implemented for gas main replacement

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that utility work along Broadway will begin on Monday for the replacement of a gas main.  In order to facilitate repairs, temporary closures will be implemented daily along a portion of Broadway.

Starting on Monday, September 24, 2018, the northbound side of S. Broadway will close to through traffic between Lancaster and Aliceanna Streets weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  In addition, temporary lane closures will also occur along northbound S. Broadway between Thames and Lancaster Streets during these times.  

Broadway will be reopened to traffic after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, and will remain open for weekend traffic.  The roadway will also remain open during upcoming Fleet Week and Halloween festivities. 

This utility work is expected to be complete at the end of November.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
