Traffic Modifications for the MCVET 5K/10K Runs and Walk
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the MCVET 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run which will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 starting at 7:30 a.m.
The 5K kicks off at 7:30 a.m. from the intersection of Lexington and Holliday Streets. Participants will proceed right on Frederick Street, right on E. Fayette Street, left on St. Paul/Light Street, and left on Key Highway to the turnaround point at Cross Street. Runners will continue back along Key Highway, then right on Light Street, north to Calvert Street and right on Lexington Street to the finish line.
The 10K kicks off at 8:30 a.m. from the intersection of Lexington and Holliday Streets. Participants will proceed right on N. Frederick Street, right on E. Fayette Street, left on St. Paul/Light Street, left on Key Highway, right on Lawrence Street and left on Fort Avenue to the turnaround point near Fort McHenry. The course proceeds right on Woodall Street, left on Key Highway, right on Light Street, north to Calvert Street and right on Lexington Street to the finish line.
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:
- Holliday Street between Saratoga and Lexington Streets
- Lexington Street between Guilford Avenue and Gay Street
In addition, at least one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route. Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for HONFest 2018
This weekend, the 25th annual HONfest will be held in the heart of Hampden along 36th Street. In preparation for the event, W. 36th Street will be closed to through traffic between Falls Road and Chestnut Avenue from 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 09, 2018 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Intersections along this stretch of roadway will also be closed during the event and traffic will not be allowed to cross.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
Lane Closures Along I-295
This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along I-295 for landscaping work. On Saturday, June 09 and Sunday, June 10, 2018 temporary left lane closures will be implemented along northbound and southbound I-295 between Bush Street and the county line from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity may encounter delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Wolfe Street Crane Lift
This Saturday, a portion of Wolfe Street will be temporarily closed for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, June 09, 2018 Wolfe Street will be closed to through traffic between Madison and Monument Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours in effect.
Motorists traveling in this area should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
