Falls Road Resurfacing Work

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of southbound Falls Road will temporarily close this weekend for resurfacing work. 

Starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 and continuing through 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, southbound Falls Road will be closed to through traffic at 36th Street with detours in effect.  In addition, the access ramp from southbound Falls Road to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway will also be closed during this time. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Have Mercy on Our Souls 5K

This Saturday, September 16, 2017 traffic modifications will be in effect for the Have Mercy on Our Souls 5K run.  The event will begin and end at Mercy High School starting at 8:30 a.m.

Participants will leave Mercy High School on E. Northern Parkway and turn right on the Alameda, follow the Alameda until it becomes Sherwood Road, and turn left on Litchfield Road.  Runners will turn left on Kenleigh Road, left on Regester Avenue, right on Sherwood Road, right on Overbrook Road, right on Banbury Road, and left on Anneslie Road.  The race proceeds left on Edgewood Road, left on Overbrook Road, right onto Sherwood Road, left on Northern Parkway, left on Glennor Road and right onto the campus driveway to finish. 

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race routes wherever possible.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Race for Our Kids 10K/5K Runs

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Race for Our Kids 10K/5K runs.  The events will be held in Mount Washington on Sunday, September 17, 2017.

The 10K course will begin at 8:00 a.m. and participants will start on Pimlico Road at the intersection of Ken Oak Road.  Runners will head north on Pimlico Road, left on Cross Country Boulevard and right on Fallstaff.  Participants will turn right on Westbrook Road and left on Labyrinth Road and turn around near Hatton Road.  Runners will follow Labyrinth Road and turn right on Westbrook Road, left on Fallstaff Road and left on Cross Country Boulevard.  Participants will bear right on Greenspring Avenue to finish near the intersection of Northern Parkway.

The 5K Run will begin at 8:25 a.m. at Pimlico and Ken Oak Roads.  Participants will travel north on Pimlico Road and left on Cross Country Boulevard to Pinkney Road where they will turn around and run back to Greenspring Avenue.  Runners will turn right on Greenspring Avenue and head south to the finish line just before the intersection of Northern Parkway.
